Snaptally is built to keep your data private. Here's exactly what happens to it — in plain language.
The time sheet you build is saved only in your own browser (localStorage). It is not uploaded to or stored on our servers during normal use. No account, no login, no cloud copy.
When you transcribe a photo or text, it is sent to Google's Gemini AI to read the times and tasks, then returned to your browser. We do not save the image or text — it is processed and discarded. Google processes it under their own data policies for that moment of transit.
Sync is optional. If you generate or enter a sync code, your entries are stored on our server under that random 6-digit code so they can reach your other devices. These auto-delete after 7 days. If you never use Sync, your entries never touch our server.
Your workspace's short client codes (like "GCO") are stored on our server so coworkers in the same workspace share one library. These are just the codes and how often they're used — never your actual time entries. Codes unused for 4 weeks are removed automatically.
We log basic events (like "a transcription happened") to understand whether the app is useful. This includes a one-way hashed version of your IP address — it cannot be reversed back into your real IP — plus a timestamp and the event type. No personal information, no content of your entries, no names or emails.
No names, no email addresses, no passwords (there are no accounts), no raw IP addresses, and no copies of your timesheet content unless you choose to sync.
Because your entries live in your browser, clearing your browser data, cookies, or history will erase them. Use Sync to back up across devices, or export to CSV anytime.
